Unfortunately these days all fighter jets have to be complicated, mainly because we need them to go so fast and turn so quickly. Going fast and turning fast gives an advantage against other planes (and missiles shot from people on the ground!). some military planes can go over 2000 miles per hour!

When you go really quickly on your bike, Any big sharp turns of the handle bar will make you crash, you have to turn your handle bars very gently. Its the same for fighter jets, but 100 times worse! so much so that a superfast computer has to control the steering of the plane, the pilot then uses the joystick to tell the computer which way to go. And that’s just the flying part, there are all the weapons, landing gear, navigation and radar to worry about! That’s why quite a few planes need two guys to operate it.
