      Hiya Zak,

I won’t lie, a masters degree took a lot of hard work, but it was definitely worth it. Compared to most other degrees you do have to put more time in, and the work is relatively complicated. Each week I would have about 25 hours of lectures where people doing say, history, would only have about 5 hours! I also got quite a bit of coursework which had to be done in the evenings. In my final year I also had to do a big dissertation project with a few friends, where I had to code a simulator and build an unmanned air vehicle robot which could control and fly itself without someone controlling it! This was a lot of work and took up quite a few weekends and evening but I found it interesting and it has really put me in good stead for my career.

I always used to worry before university, that I would have to be working while everyone else was out partying and having an amazing time. I can tell you now that although it is a lot of work, you do get a lot of time to do that work, big holidays, and PLENTY of time for partying or hanging out with friends. The only difference between me and someone doing a difference course, was that in the afternoon I would maybe have to do some work while they were sat watching youtube. Now after my degree I feel that I both had a great time and put in the right amount of work.

In terms of difficulty of content, the maths at times was pretty complicated and I would strongly recommend A-level Maths and maybe even further maths. Other than that there is just a lot to remember around exam time, but with the right preparation anyone can achieve it!
