• Question: How long would it take to fly to Mars?

      I think it is at least 6 months based on current technology – I understand getting there is farily easy, getting back is the difficult part.

      I haven’t got wings yet……so it would take me a while to even get off the ground 😉

      When it is closest to earth (on its big orbit) Mars is about 35 million miles away, and spaceships can travel at more than 10,000 miles per hour. As Keith says, that equates to roughly 6 months travel time. Lets hope in our life time we can build even faster spacecraft and get there ourselves.
