thats a big problem – but I would like to understand more about the problem – how do you define “polluted”, how would you define “clean”, what is the gap between the two. I think the first step in tackling any problem is to understand it, and understand/agree what result you are looking to acheive. You can then start to be creative about different ways of solving that problem.

As Keith said – it depends on what the pollutant is and to what standard you wanted the world cleaned! The Olympic Park was built on a polluted site…they found all sorts on there!

I agree with Nicola and Keith, there are so many definitions that I wouldn’t be able to give you one answer! The first step would be prevention; why are we being polluted? What’s causing it? And tackling the source there. Then it would be do we need to clean it up, or will nature be able to take its course? If we need to clean it up then it would depend on what the pollution is as to what methods we could use to clean it up.

If the whole world was covered by pollution it would be very difficult for one person to sort it out! I think what I would try and do is find something that one person can do to make a small change, to try and prevent producing more pollution or remove the existing pollution. I would then encourage everyone to do that (or probably by that stage get the government to make everyone do that!)
