I really enjoyed doing my projects last year on the Olympics – being able to study something I was personally very interested in as part of my course was amazing!! Being able to learn all about how they were constructing building to be environmentally friendly and sustainable was amazing!
My favourite project is one of my current ones, we are looking to clean up a stream that polluted by zinc and copper from old metal mining. It is a new area to work in so we are looking into new technologies, trying to understand the difficulties and issues with the technologies. It great to really get into something new at the beginning of a process.
I really enjoyed working on my little timber project called ‘the caretaker’s house’ and I’ve also really enjoyed working on a public engagement project with my doctoral centre where we used street art to showcase our research at the Bristol Street Art festival, ‘See No Evil’.
My favourite project was actually one at University. I got to build an unmanned air vehicle (basically a radio controlled plane) which could take off vertically and control and balance itself. It was a real challenge and quite complicated but definitely worth it.
