      Civil engineering is full of wonderfully inappropriate terms…

      Here are a couple that are ACTUALLY in textbooks:

      Fully penetrated butt weld (my personal fave)
      Stiff member
      Flange
      Head-loss
      Erection sequence

      I was always in fits of giggles in lectures cos i’m just that childish.

      Ahhh Tish as just mentioned the ones we ALWAYS used to giggle at in lectures!

      Poisson’s ratio is one of my favourites……… it always reminds me of a song my crazy french teacher used to sing able fish!
